The Universal Exibit of 1942 was the starting point of the planning and the building of a district that was intended to be the symbol of the modernization of the Country and today is an exemple of rationalist architecture and city planning.
Starting from the Propylea built by Luigi Moretti and Vittorio Ballio Morpurgo, we’ll cross the whole district, stopping in front of the most iconic buildings, like the Palace of the Labour Civilization, also known as the Square Colosseum, the church of St. Peter and St. Paul, the Indoor Stadium, the obelisc dedicated to Guglielmo Marconi, the ENI skyscraper, the Museums Palaces and the “Cloud” by Fuksas. The great names of Italian contemporary architecture are facing each other and interchange on the background of this modern, functional and monumental district of Rome.
