The via Peregrinorum from the Capitol hill to Castel S. Angelo
Since ever Rome is the main destination for foreigners, coming to town because of the most different reasons: a lot of them were driven by business, a lot by faith. As a matter of fact, the tombs of the Apostles and of the Martyrs and the many relics in Rome attracted millions of pilgrims, who crowded the city streets moving on precise paths. Following the indications in the Einsiedeln Itinerary, we’ll retrace the via peregrinorum stops in Campus Martius, touching the churches of St. Catherine dei funari and of St. Damasus and entering the so called “Canale di Ponte” (“Channel of the bridge”) until we’ll reach St. Angel Castle, enjoying churches, inns and shops which are the most authentic part of today’s Rome.
