Quintilii’s villa
This villa is located on the Ancient Appian way and it was the residential building in one of the largest properties in the Roman countryside. It was owned by the two noble brothers Quintilii, who, after being blamed for taking part in a plot against the emperor Commodus, were condemned to death and were deprived of their goods, which became part of the imperial property. Inside the building we’ll have a chance to visit the rooms where the emperor used to revel during his breaks and the lavish private thermal bath. In the small local museum we will also enjoy some objects found during the recent archaeological excavations, which can give us a perfect idea about the extraordinary opulence of the decoration of this villa.
